With the usual " its the last game before xmas so I ll go shopping with the missus" attitude badly reducing the clubs playing personnel,it was not looking good at mid day.Luckily as kick off time approached things took a turn for the better.Firstly a chance meeting with a fresh faced young colt (John Hollis) meant we now had 15 but still a prop short,then to prove xmas is truly a time of miracles Lol appeared to watch the first team game,and yes" he did have his boots in the car".So after a quick rub down by Lauren he was all set! But it took him another half hour to get his shorts on!!

As for the game,Chingford started with their new high energy,high impact forward game and were soon two tries to the good(Trevor Harding and Billys mate Tim (thanks Tim).Hitchin tried to play a more stuctured game but couldnt cope with the intensity of the hard hitting Chingford forwards and after half and hour the score was 24 zip.It was then that the energy levels egan to fall away and Hitchin took advantage by scoring tries either side of half time to send alarm bells ringing.Luke then gave what will become a famous behind the posts speech which went something like this" We are not *****!! ******!!!! ****!! ***!!!!!! ***!!!!!!!(sorry the censor got to it), and this did the trick.With the addition of Ryan Faldo the game then resorted back to Chingford taking the game to Hitchin with such intensity that few teams would have withstood.

So from the depths of dispair the best performance of the season emerged.A special welcome back to Luke Giddins and Ryan,it truly is like gaining two new players.
