| 27 Nov 2011 | Friendly | Harlow RFC | Away | Draw | 23 | 23 | Report | Game 1. Harlow 9-8 Chingford Cougars. What an opening game, end to end stuff, just the way rugby should be played, both teams enjoying this great game in the sun. Playing on a very large pitch compared to Waltham Way this would test both of our teams. Harlow set about opening the scoring, and just as they did, we returned the favour and scored one of our. At Halftime Harlow ere 4-3 up. More of the same came in the 2nd half as Harlow opened the scoring with a great move, but Chingford hit right back with Nathanael touchdown, and then a Daniel Browne touchdown. However Harlow got stringer as the match wore on and ended up outscore g by the single try. What a game!!
Game 2. Harlow 7-6 Chingford Jaguars Another great game for the watching public, both teams going for each try zone with ball in hand. Both teams blessed with speed. Harlow opening the score, and the Chingford attack then awoke to score and level. With some great tagging in between both teams played some expansive rugby and on the big pitch always looked likely to be a scoring frenzy. Just when it looked as though Chingford has a hold Harlow came back to snatch the victory.
Game 3. Harlow 7-9 Chingford Jaguars The final game of three, and both teams left the best until last. Some great tagging, and some great try scoring by both teams, and as always there could only be one winner. Harlow would score, then Chingford. Chingford would score then Harlow. As the match wore on Chingford pulled ahead and with some great tagging held Harlow at bay, and then with some great running from Jevan Keenan set up Daniel Browne for the winner. What a great morning!!
Overall Score. Harlow 23-23 Chingford. |
| 4 Dec 2011 | Friendly | Finchley RFC & Hammersmith and Fulham RFC | Away | Loss | 19 | 22 | Report | Under 8’s – The Younger Vikings. Game 1. Finchley 8-6 Chingford A good opening but unfortunately we just missed out in this one. Some great tagging, again end to end stuff, great for the paying spectator, the coaches and refs couldn’t keep up. We were just outdone by some good play from our hosts who eventually won out, a well deserved win.
Game 2. Finchley 7-5 Another close game, some great tagging, and passing. Finchley had some quickies with some great feet who kept cutting through our defensive lines. Chingford countered with some great passing of their own which led to Amir Kadem steamrollering through with a great try, and ably assisted by Drew Buisson pushed our hosts to the edge but they kept us at bay for the second time.
Game 3. Chingford 7-3 Hammersmith All of the hard work in the first games paid off in this match up, some great passing, and tagging by Daniel Browne, and Nathanael Jordon led to a flurry of tries for the Black, White and Blue. Some great work in defence on our try line held up Hammersmith on many attacks. The children played really well especially as the wind was that cold now even I was shivering. A great win!!
Game 4. Chingford 1-4 Finchley. Possibly a game too far, after the joy of the previous win, we came back down to earth with a bump. Finchley and their quickies were too strong for Chingford as the cold and the wind began to take its toll. A good win for the hosts and a great days rugby for the Under 8’s.
Coach Argent said ,” There was some great defensive work on show today, some great tagging. Some superb tries in minimum of passes, good ball control against blistering and chilly winds for the first time this season”. |
