Match Report
Todays Match report Chingford won 36 - 18
Chingford arrived at Braintree with a strong team and duly came away with a win. Unfortunately Ian Marshall suffered a serious leg injury, a broken leg and dislocated ankle. We all send him our best wishes and hope for a good recovery from a serious injury.
Today's game again saw good driving play from the forwards who kept Braintree pinned back and prevented their forwards from gaining any momentum. The backs played well and clinically finished off several good moves which reflected well on a very make shift back line including Adam the Hooker playing centre.
Joe had a remarkable day with the boot slotting all but one of his kicks including two fantastic kicks wide out on the touchline on a very wide pitch. Braintree played a full part in the game coming from two tries down to virtually equalise at half time and make the second half more tense than it need to have been until the Chingford forwards took control with some fantastic scrummaging repeatedly pushing Braintree off the ball and creating immense pressure.
Matt the centre also scored three good tries showing how well the backs are beginning to finish off good moves created by the driving play of the forwards particularly Henry, Matt Yardley and Luke.
I would also like to add that Joby was unavailable today as he was installing the coaches boiler! A clash of priorities perhaps? I am sure Henry could have gone without hot water for a few hours! In future all players (and coaches) are to abstain from using "Odd Job Joby" to carry out essential home maintenance on Saturdays! He is available at any other time!
