After a late team gathering and a few heart palpitations for the captain as players failed to materialise on time due to traffic, Tottenham games, in laws and kit locked in the shed by the girl friend syndrome (I don't think she wanted you to play Tom) the game kicked off with Chingford establishing domination and scoring two good tries from the half backs, Nick and Joe showing good pace and power. Eton Manor fought back and put in five minutes of pressure which saw us having to defend our line which the team did well, not panicking and eventually forcing a penalty which saw Joe clear our lines. Both the scrum and the lineout were working well which saw Chingford repeatedly put pressure on the opposing lines and saw Little Tom score a good try breaking through the defence at pace. Chingford continued to create and score tries which demonstrated growing fluency and pace in the backs. Training seemed to be paying off as Chingford repeatedly took the ball into contact and recycled quickly through good pop passes and good rucking. The game continued to be dominated by Chingford and it was nice to see all eight of the forwards power over the line after an excellent catch from Richard and powerfull driving from the rest of the pack saw Henry score after Eton Manor were pushed back from outside the 22. The second half began with a good try from Chingford as Matt continued to score tries in the corner finishing off an excellent move. Eton Manor hit back with a good try of their own. Chingford spent the next ten minutes resting on their laurels before Matt scored a beautifull try gathering a great pass from Taylor who for a prop showed a surprising amount of pace and fantastic skill to draw his player before releasing a great pass. A fantastic performance from the team with special thanks to Ryan who proved a great find at prop.
